Dutch govt helps Papua formulate energy policy

One of the The Dutch government support for NKRI  that they will extend assistance to the Papua provincial government to improve human resources capabilities in the field of renewable energy as a step to formulate an energy policy at local level.

"This assistance is given through the CASINDO project manager, and Papua is selected as one of five regions in Indonesia as the location of the renewable energy project," Casindo coordinator, Nico van der Linden said here on Friday.

Decline Cocoa Genyem, Due to Lack of Power and Political Situation

Ir Alex Griapon, Head Litbangda in Sentani, Jayapura regency, said Saturday in Cocoa production decline in its heyday Genyem caused shortages and the political situation at that time.

Griapon said, in a few decades, Cacao plantation decline so drastically. Cocoa plantations result in a vacuum for so long.

Papuan activist in Netherlands Victor Kaisiepo dies aged 61

A Papuan activist, Victor Kaisiepo, has died in the Netherlands at the age of 61. He was a spokesperson for the West Papua People’s Front, the Federation of Papuan organisations in the Netherlands. Mr Kaisiepo also lobbied the United Nations to promote the rights of his people as well as the rights of other indigenous peoples.

He was born in Dutch New Guinea, but his family left for the Netherlands when the territory was handed over to Indonesia in 1962. Mr Kaisiepo’s father was also a well-known activist for Papuan independence.

Surya MajapahitHistory of Jayapura In the book of Nagara-Kertagama writen by Rakawi Prapanca of Majapahit, under the rule of King Hayam Wuruk, in 1365 A.D,  it was mentioned that West Papua was belong to Majapahit Kingdom territory. In one of its paragraphs mentioned “Muwah tikhan i wandan, ambwan (Ambon) athawa maloko wwanin (Fakfak)” were the sovereign territory of Majapahit Kingdom.
